31 of the best horror movies to watch for Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner, and every year before the month of October even comes I’m already getting into the holiday spirit by re-watching some of my favorite horror movies. I’m sharing my list with you today, which includes lots of movies that will give you spooky/fall vibes.

This list has a nice mix of modern horror, classic horror, comedy and family movies from scary to funny. So I think it’s a great way to celebrate the holiday.

Of course, I just have to mention that this is my personal list and it’s not meant to be inclusive of every Halloween movie or all of the best horror movies. I also intentionally left off sequels to keep from crowding up the list – but of course I fully recommend you watch the sequels as well (the good ones at least).
