10 Binge-Worthy Teen Shows to Watch If You Like ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’

The Summer I Turned Pretty has quickly become one of my favorite new teen shows. Every summer I now look forward to the dreamy coastal setting and the angsty drama—cringey moments and all. If you’re like me and can’t get enough of these types of shows, then check out my list of more TV shows that capture the same summer romance and teen angsty vibes.

1. My Life With The Walter Boys (2024-present)

If you take nearly the exact same plot from TSITP and set it in the country, rather than a seaside town, you get My Life With The Walter Boys. In this Netflix original series, we follow the story of Jackie, a city girl who moves to a small-town ranch after a tragedy to live with her new guardians and their 8 kids. As Jackie navigates her new chaotic life, she also finds herself in the middle of a love triangle with 2 of the brothers. If you enjoyed the emotional journey and summer vibes of The Summer I Turned Pretty, you’ll love Jackie’s adventures and her developing relationships with the Walter boys.

2. Ginny & Georgia (2021-present)

Ginny & Georgia is about a teen girl named Ginny and her free-spirited mom, Georgia, who move to a new town for a fresh start. Starring Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey, the show is a nice mix of humor and romantic drama set in a small town, which reminds me a lot of TSITP and even includes multiple love triangles. If you love a good coming-of-age story, along with complex family drama, then you’ll love this.

3. XO, Kitty (2023-present)

XO, Kitty follows Kitty Covey, a teenager who moves to Korea to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend. Starring Anna Cathcart, this spin-off of “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” offers romance, culture clashes, and self-discovery. If you liked the sweet romance and relatable characters in TSITP, you’ll enjoy Kitty’s journey of love and identity.

4. Never Have I Ever (2020-2023)

In Never Have I Ever, we follow the coming-of-age journey of Devi Vishwakumar, a high school sophomore dealing with the death of her father while navigating teenage life. Starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, this series is heartfelt, funny, and touching. If you enjoy TSITP, then you’ll love Devi’s relatable struggles of balancing her quest for romance (mostly having to choose between two boys) with preparing for college and life after high school.

5. Outer Banks (2020-present)

Outer Banks is an adventure drama about a group of teens in the Outer Banks of North Carolina searching for a legendary treasure. Starring Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline, this series combines mystery, romance, and action. If you loved the coastal setting and angsty romance of The Summer I Turned Pretty, this show will keep you hooked.

6. The Vampire Diaries (2009-2017)

The classic teen show The Vampire Diaries revolves around Elena Gilbert, who falls in love with a vampire and gets pulled into his supernatural world. Starring Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder, this show is full of romance, suspense, and supernatural drama. If you enjoyed the love triangle featured in The Summer I Turned Pretty, then you’ll probably love this series.

7. Dawson’s Creek (1998-2003)

Dawson’s Creek follows a group of friends in a small coastal town as they navigate the ups and downs of teenage life. Starring James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, and Joshua Jackson, this classic teen drama is full of romance, heartbreak, and self-discovery. Fans of TSITP will enjoy the small-town feel and heartfelt storytelling.

8. The O.C. (2003-2007)

The O.C. centers on Ryan Atwood, a troubled teen taken in by a wealthy family in Orange County, California. Starring Ben McKenzie, Mischa Barton, and Adam Brody, this show combines class drama, romance, and friendship. If you liked the complex relationships and sunny setting of The Summer I Turned Pretty, this is a perfect pick.

9. One Tree Hill (2003-2012)

Starring Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty One Tree Hill follows the lives of two half-brothers, Lucas and Nathan Scott, who have a tense relationship but share a love for basketball. Very similar to TSITP, this series explores friendships, rivalries, and love in a small town.

From the thrilling adventures of Outer Banks to the heartfelt drama of One Tree Hill, these series offer a blend of romance, friendship, and truly unforgettable moments will remind you of TSITP.
